Known as the Crimson Knight of the Alliance, Stephen is one of the military’s Ace pilots feared by the EAP. Secondarily, he’s Adam's older brother, a fact that he often forgets as he keeps him at arm’s length. Ever since the death of their parents and eldest brother, Nick, he had to take up a parental role at a young age.

When he was 17 he began a friendship with General Frank Copiare and enlisted in the Alliance’s Frame program. With Genesis Global taking care of Adam through the intern and housing program, Stephen took it upon himself to explore the world to gain a better understanding of its inner workings. Because of this, he never treated Adam like a brother, more like his guardian. He tried his best to keep Adam from the real world, wanting to spare Adam from the depressing war on Mars. When his efforts failed and Adam was granted access to the Alliance Exam, Stephen was put on the spot and forced to take him under his wing.

Stephen has a deep history with Karin Dolor, having saved her from an abrupt sortie that went wrong. It was there that he gained the Crimson Knight moniker. The two rivals have been at odds ever since. This was only made even more awkward when she was assigned to Adam as his operator. Stephen is renowned by everyone in the Alliance. He does his best to keep up appearances, but behind the scenes he is still looking into what really happened to his family all those years ago.
