Another Monday, another update!

Yesterday was National Siblings Day!

Siblings are not only blood related, but also the closest friends you have. To celebrate National Siblings Day, here a few of the SH characters that share those bonds, whether blood related or not.

Two Brothers

Adam and Stephen Novus: Blood brothers who have had a very tumultuous childhood growing up. The loss of their parents and eldest brother forever defined their personalities and ambition. Stephen ventured off to join the Alliance under the watchful eye of General Frank Copiare, whereas Adam was placed under the care of the Genesis Global internship program as part of the company’s agreement with their parents’ will. The two often butt heads when it comes to Adam’s future, but through all that animosity, they are brothers that will support one another.

Ivory Days

Catherine and Sarah Henning: Foster sisters who are as thick as blood. Catherine and Sarah are inseparable since Sarah lost her family in a bombing against the Alliance. Catherine is often the level headed one, always trying to prevent Sarah’s impetuous nature from getting her into trouble. Both joined the Alliance under General Nicole West and as such were put under her care. As a team, the two compliment one another when it comes to battle, even if Sarah rushes head on without much thought.

Movie Night

Sharon Amare and Karin Dolor: While not blood related or even sisters by name, Sharon and Karin immediately hit it off. Over time, the two become extremely close, often acting as the sister neither had growing up. Their personalities blend well and they serve as each other’s escape from stress their lives have created. Sharon, working with her father at Genesis Global, and Karin being with the Alliance, the two relate on a number of issues.

Episode 6 Progress: The final scene!

I say “final” scene, but it’s really scene 3, chronologically. Every scene except this one has been fully cleaned up, animation wise. This is the second longest scene in the episode, so it might take about 2 weeks to fully finish. But it’s well underway and I’m happy with how it’s coming out. I’m usually able to do about 2 minutes of animation clean up per week, so sometime next week it should be done.

To clarify what I mean when I say “clean up”, it’s basically tracing over the animatic with line art, fully coloring it, adding sfx and background art.

Extra stuff:

Once Act 1 is complete, I will be releasing a full series music video that will debut a new song made specifically for the series. More on that to come later. Also the revised, “definitive” version of the first book will be released in both ebook and paperback format. This book has been revised to fit the animated series version, including the new characters and properly covering the rest of the animated adaptation. Here’s an animatic from that video.
